Getting involved in student life can help you succeed in countless ways. At the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT), you’ll have many opportunities to immerse yourself in student life according to your interests.

At UOIT, students have formative experiences to grow into who they want to be. A student’s life stretches beyond the classroom into new hobbies, friendships and skill sets. There are plenty of ways to get involved, including clubs, faculty societies, student government, mentoring programs and numerous volunteer opportunities.

If you’d rather find a place to relax and unwind, our Student Centre is the place for you. A great place to buy gifts or meet with friends, the Student Centre also houses E.P. Taylor’s, a campus favourite that hosts concerts, battles of the bands, comedy and variety shows, karaoke and much more.

You can also get involved in UOIT’s athletics. With a program that is growing stronger each year, the UOIT Ridgebacks are building a powerful reputation in varsity curling, dance, golf, hockey, rowing, soccer, tennis and women’s lacrosse. You’ll also enjoy our Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre which features five gymnasiums, an elevated indoor walking/jogging track and the Flex, a 929-square-metre (10,000-square-foot) fitness centre featuring top-of-the-line cardio and weight machines.

Finally, there’s a plethora of activities you can enjoy in Oshawa, Ontario. Featuring quality shopping and dining, waterfront trails, slopes for skiing and snowboarding, and competitive and recreational sports facilities, Oshawa meets all of your student life needs.

Now that you’ve read all about our clubs, activities, athletics and our city, we want to invite you to join in! Come be a part of the wonderful student life at UOIT and make memories to last a lifetime.
